PROformance Low-Carb 14
A high-energy beet pulp, vegetable oil-based grain concentrate formulated to contain only 20% starch. Utilizing highly digestible fermentable fiber from beet pulp and soy hulls in combination with vegetable oil, a high energy (1,280 Kcal/lb) feed is created while maintaining a lower-than-normal level of cereal grains (corn and oats) to reduce starch content.
- Designed for the new technology of low glycemic (lowering the insulin spike) grain concentrate
- Lowering starch in the grain mix reduces the possibility of grain (starch) overload, which causes colic, laminitis and founder
- Recent research shows that lower glycemic feeds fed to young, growing horses results in fewer cases of skeletal abnormalities (OCDs)
- Formulated with lower starch content while maintaining energy content equal to or greater than conventional corn, oat and barley grain concentrates
- Fat provided in the highest quality form --- pure food grade vegetable oils
- Highly fortified with calcium, phosphorus and magnesium to optimize skeletal development
- Fortified with all natural vitamin E, the most highly digestible form
- Fortified with yeast culture to improve digestibility of grain and forage, allowing the horse to get more nutritional value from its feed
- Copper, zinc, manganese and iron are supplemented from proteinated form --- the form of greatest digestibility
- All grains used in Producer Feeds’ products are screened on receipt to remove any impurities prior to use in manufacturing
- Pellets included in Producer Feeds’ textured fees are manufactured in “mini-pellet” form to reduce sorting in the feed bowl by horses

Feeding Directions
Performance Horses: Feed at the rate of 0.25-1.5% of body weight (8-14 lbs. per day for most light horses) depending on work intensity, body condition and quality of forage available. Adjust feed intake to maintain desirable body condition.
Mares: Barren and early pregnant mares should consume 8-10 lbs. per day if a poor quality forage is being fed. If good quality forage is available feed intake can be decreased. Late pregnant mares should be fed 8-10 lbs. per day of this feed plus liberal quantities of good quality forage. Lactating mares may be fed 8-12 lbs. per day of this feed in addition to liberal quantities of good hay and/or pasture depending on body condition and milk production. If low protein grass hay is being fed to lactating mares we recommend PROformance 16 (Horse H) or PROformance Powr 16% pellet for the grain concentrate.
Yearlings and Two Year Olds: Feed at the rate of 0.75-1.50% of body weight per day. For most light horses this amounts to 8-12 lbs. per day. Adjust intake up or down depending on body condition, desired growth rate and forage quality and availability.
Foals and Weanlings: This feed is not recommended for nursing foals or weanlings. We recommend using PROformance 16 (Horse H) or PROformance Powr 16% pellet for the grain concentrate.
All Producer horse feeds should be fed with liberal quantities of good quality hay and/or pasture and free-choice salt. Provide fresh, clean water at all times.
Store feed in a clean, dry place protected from insects and rodents. Never feed moldy or insect-infested feed to horses as it may cause illness, abortion or death.
