A minimum of 1% of the senior horse’s body weight in high-quality timothy/grass hay is recommended. For example, an 800 lb. horse should receive 8 lbs. of timothy/grass hay. Variance may require feeding rate adjustments of up to 10% depending on body condition of the individual horse.
All Producer horse feeds should be fed with liberal quantities of good quality hay and/or pasture and free-choice salt. Provide clean, fresh water at all times.
Store feed in a clean, dry place protected from insects and rodents. Never feed moldy or insect-infested feed to horses as it may cause illness, abortion or death.
